Your story could look at an area of the industry you are particularly interested in – like digital fashion and NFTs – or a design technique you admire or have mastered. You may have discovered a brand or product you want to review. It could even be advice from a fashion student’s perspective to guide others in the same field, supporting new talent.

Perhaps you want to get involved in our Industry Hot Take series, where we hear from a creative to get their ‘hot take’ on their skills and the industry as we know it!

This is an outlet to unleash your creativity, add a published feature to your portfolio, and join a community of fashion enthusiasts passionate about the creative space.

Fashion writing is a large area of the industry – with job roles in copywriting, journalism, content writing, and even SEO.

In a previous article, we touched on what it’s like to work as a Copywriter…

‘As a copywriter, you’re in charge of writing some or all of the company’s copy, ensuring it’s aligned with their tone of voice and values. The type of content can be quite diverse, including banners, newsletters, blog posts, articles, product descriptions, and much more. Copywriters work closely with the marketing team to promote a brand’s campaign and identity accurately.’

Our Education, Communications and Events Manager, Katie, also told us how the written word is a crucial part of any fashion business…

“Maintaining brand tone of voice is crucial for communications. Making sure this remains consistent across the board can be time-consuming, but it is ever-so-important.”
