Let’s look back at a pivotal year for New Talent Fashion and highlight the events, launches and innovations that shaped 2021…
2021 saw the onboarding of new colleagues, interns and graduates – with a handful of promotions along the way. We have loved working together with a range of universities to support their students via internships and placements, guiding their professional development in the fashion industry.
Sustainability Meets Fast Fashion
Our first event of 2021, Sustainability Meets Fast Fashion, brought together a wide range of talented experts to discuss tackling the issues of sustainability and fast fashion within the industry. From a sustainability expert at the University of Leeds to a copywriter at New Look, we shared a range of experiences and insights surrounding eco-fashion.
An Evening with NTF
This virtual panel event – with ticket sales from the event donated to Flourish in Diversity – placed industry-expert speakers in the spotlight, sharing their views on the organisations currently creating room for change and how the industry can expand further. We shed light on what educational bodies are doing to help diversity and inclusion in the industry and what more needs to be actioned from the start of a career in fashion.
Graduate Preview 2020/21
We always keep an eye out for fresh talent, so this year the team at New Talent Fashion handpicked a selection of graduates for our 2020/21 Graduate Preview – showcasing talent inspired by themes such as heritage, sustainability, politics, history and technology.
From Coventry University to The Summer Fashion School London, our team guest lectured at a range of universities discussing everything from personal development, graduating during a pandemic and career paths. We can’t wait to visit more institutes this year and help guide the next generation of creatives.
Northern Fashion Week
We launched Northern Fashion Week – 4-9 July 2022 – an event that promises to champion northern talent and develop northern industry, highlighting the most exciting emerging and established designers and brands in the fashion world, with catwalks, talks, networking, exhibits, panels, the Northern Fashion Week Awards and more.
Mentoring at the University of Westminster
We were thrilled to announce that members of our team are now part of the Future Ready Career Mentoring Programme at the University of Westminster! Our team are looking forward to supporting the mentees over the course of the programme with all-things employability and professional development.
We can’t wait to see what 2022 brings!
