The first thing that comes to most people’s minds when they think about fashion is fashion design. The iconic fashion designer role is seen as glamorous, fun and creative. While this can be true, not everything is plain sailing when it comes to designing collections. There’s a lot of research, meet ups with other departments, and problem-solving – which also makes this position quite dynamic and interesting.
As you’re probably aware, fashion designers are responsible for creating clothing – applying their knowledge and techniques making sure the results come out as expected, especially in terms of fabrics and trims. A designer can work either based on their briefing, or one from a brand – always considering the customer, theme and budget.
