It’s time to get to know the faces behind New Talent Fashion – a family of passionate and positive people, here to recognise, empower and showcase new talent.
This time, we spoke to Ellie, Digital Marketing Assistant here at NTF.
What does an average day working at NTF look like for you?
My days are never usually the same here at NTF – from sourcing creatives to building relationships with brands, the versatility of my days is why I love working here. Alongside NTF, I also work with Northern Fashion Week, supporting the team with producing merchandise and creating content on our social media platforms.
Tell us about your first job in the fashion industry…
Working for NTF is my first job in the fashion industry and I’m so appreciative that I started here. I have a background in vintage retail so I was always inspired by fashion, but joining NTF has kickstarted my role in the fashion industry.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find my inspiration from people around me. Growing up in London, diversity is all around. This has enabled me to embrace other cultures and take inspiration from all around the world in one city.
What do you love most about our memberships?
From working on Student Hub – by NTF, the extra support you receive from the Mentor Me area is definitely something creatives benefit from. As for NTF Exclusive – the Wellness Centre is my favourite. It’s so important to look after your health and I’m glad we can provide some knowledge of how to do that in the Wellness Centre.
What are you looking forward to, for NTF?
I’m looking forward to Northern Fashion Week! The team is doing an amazing job planning the event and I can’t wait to see it all come to life. It’s going to have such a positive impact on northern talent, and I’m glad I could be a part of it.
Do you have any advice for our community looking for a role in the industry?
Be yourself. There’s nobody like you out there and that is your advantage. Find the things you like and run with them. You will flourish because a sense of you is in everything you do. Making a good first impression is always helpful too.
