5 size-inclusive fashion brands to have on your radar

The size-inclusivity problem in the fashion industry has been a well-known issue for a long time. While the average UK woman is a size 16 – most high street brands don’t seem to cater for them but smaller women. There’s no strict definition of the starting point of a plus-size range, it varies between size 14 and 18 in high street shops, seemingly underserving the average woman.

Even though the plus-size market has developed a lot in the past years with the discussions around inclusivity and diversity, there’s still a lot to be done. While it’s a great and long overdue initiative to include bigger sizes, there are quite a few mistakes brands still make like not including plus-size models in their campaigns, stocking extended sizes exclusively online and offering completely different – and in most cases plain and boring – styles than they do in smaller sizes.
